Next Profile

Emily King
AIA, LEED Green Associate

Emily is a designer at HASTINGS with a passion for elevating the day-to-day through thoughtful details in the built environment. Her path to architecture was not traditional, but the divergences and explorations shaped her to become a problem solver and provided her with diverse experiences from which she finds inspiration.

After receiving a Bachelor of Science in Business from Miami University, she went on to the University of Pennsylvania to pursue her Master of Architecture + Landscape Architecture. Emily’s creative process is grounded in a pragmatic approach informed by her background in the black and white world of business and the greys of design. To fully understand and respond to sites, Emily pursued her Master of Landscape Architecture. She spent a year working for Jean Nouvel and Bjarke Ingels in Paris and Copenhagen to broaden her exposure to different practices. Emily joined HASTINGS in 2019 after working for LSM Studio in Washington D.C.

Emily’s passion for design excellence goes beyond her desk and to her house, where she spends most of her free time working on projects. She can also be found trail running at Nashville’s parks or scrutinizing maps for her next trip.
