Archello features the new H. Frank Burkholder Wellness Center at Montgomery Bell Academy. The Wellness Center, a new 200,000-SF state-of-the-art facility, is dedicated to improving student wellbeing with a diverse range of inclusive programming. Designed to support mental and physical health, the Wellness Center includes spaces to gather, host, meet, study, perform, meditate, learn, play, practice, and compete.
In the main pre-function space organic patterns in the terrazzo floor suggest topography and the flow of water. This reference to nature carries throughout the space with an abundance of natural light, interior vegetation, the calming sounds of flowing water, organic forms, materials, rhythms, and views supporting biophilic principles. A skylight over the atrium floods the heart of the building with natural light, highlighting an artist-designed mobile of redtail hawks carved from a fallen sycamore tree.
