The editors of ARCHITECT Magazine – the most widely-read architecture magazine in the United States – today announced the results of its 2019 Architect 50 ranking. The annual Architect 50 ranking is considered one of the most comprehensive and prestigious in the profession. Nashville-based Hastings Architecture was recognized as #3 overall.
Each year, ARCHITECT Magazine conducts an in-depth survey to produce a ranking of the top 50 architecture firms in the United States based on performance across three categories: design, business, and sustainability. Firms submit a design portfolio and respond to survey questions that consider factors such as revenue, employee benefits, firm diversity, research initiatives, profitability, and pro bono work.
In addition to its overall ranking (the firm’s highest ever), Hastings ranked #7 in design and #10 in business. “It’s such an honor to be recognized by our peers in this way. The caliber of firms on the A50 list is always incredible. We are humbled to be included in the company of these firms, and tremendously thankful for our talented and passionate staff,” states Partner Dave Powell.
Since it was founded in 1985, Hastings has been committed to designing both for its clients and for the communities it serves with work that is intentionally diverse in scale and typology. The firm’s #7 design ranking was based on a featured portfolio of recent work including The Purpose Hotel, a new Fine Arts Building at Christ Presbyterian Academy, Metro Nashville Police Headquarters and Family Safety Center, Smith Springs Community Center, and the adaptive reuse of the former Downtown Public Library at 225 Polk Avenue.
“This recognition celebrates the creativity of our team as well as our commitment to our outstanding clients. We enjoy a deeply collaborative approach – great design is the culmination of a collective process,” says Partner David Bailey.
