In 2008, to reinforce our commitment to sustainability, Hastings founded greenSTUDIO, a consulting group dedicated to furthering our knowledge of sustainable design and the facilitation and documentation of such within and outside of Hastings.

Led by Erica Weeks, greenSTUDIO is an expert at facilitating cross-disciplinary discussions and developing environmentally conscious design strategies and solutions. greenSTUDIO manages diverse sets of data and criteria across multiple certification rating systems with a deep understanding of human-nature connections.

From architecture to environmental science, the expertise of our staff is multidisciplinary and varied. Through our work with owners, building operators, architects, engineers, and contractors, greenSTUDIO provides timely and accurate consultation for new construction, renovation, adaptive reuse and existing building projects, reducing environmental impact in a fiscally and socially responsible way.

The collective experience of greenSTUDIO staff includes sustainability consulting on over 140 projects across the United States. greenSTUDIO has facilitated LEED Certification on over 100 projects across all certification levels including LEED Platinum, the highest level issued by the US Green Building Council (USGBC). Our expert team is knowledgeable in a wide variety of topics related to sustainability. In addition to USGBC’s LEED program, our studio certifies projects under the WELL Building Standard, SITES, fitwel, and Living Building Challenge initiatives.
