James O. Hastings
Founding Principal, AIA, LEED AP

James O. Hastings co-founded HASTINGS in 1985 with his late wife Jeanne R. Hastings. Jim’s commitment to design and community continue to underpin the work HASTINGS does.

Jim earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Memphis and a Bachelor of Architecture at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, where he went on to serve on the Advisory Board for the College of Architecture and Design.

A leader in the architecture community, Jim served as Chair of the State of Tennessee Architecture and Engineering Licensing Board, and was an active member of the State of Tennessee Technical Advisory Committee and the Health Care Facility Licensing Board. Jim was also a member of the American Institute of Architects, National Council of Architectural Registration Board, and Urban Design Forum, as well as a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional.
