T3 Wedgewood-Houston

Celebrating the spirit of Nashville’s Wedgewood-Houston neighborhood, The Finery is an urban tapestry of uses, experiences, materials, and construction methodologies. This collection of buildings and outdoor spaces, including T3 Wedgewood-Houston and the Residences at the Finery establishes a new nexus for creatives, embracing the deep heritage of artists, makers, and entrepreneurs that comprise the community. It is envisioned as a social, artistic, and economic hub knit into the historic fabric of the neighborhood.

Public plazas and courtyards lined with retail activation weave between the buildings, spilling out to the surrounding streets and alleyways through paseos and under overhead bridges providing porosity and seamless connectivity with the greater community on all sides.

T3 (named for key considerations: timber, transit, and technology) is an innovative 200,000-square-foot, seven-story, mass timber structure providing creative office space with ground-floor retail. T3 is constructed of Mass Timber with a Dowel Laminated Timber (DLT) floor structure above a concrete podium with a 200-space parking garage. DLT is a structurally efficient, rapidly renewable, and economic mass timber panel. The exposed mass timber recalls the warmth and familiarity of historic heavy timber buildings while utilizing modern methodologies and a forward-looking approach to construction.

The design for T3 acknowledges and interprets the neighborhood’s industrial heritage and varied scales of development into a façade pattern made of bronze anodized aluminum panels. Additionally, a large-scale welding arm salvaged from the site’s previous building is located at the street along the front landscaping strip to honor the neighborhood’s history.
