Kate is an adept problem solver and a devoted design advocate. As an Architect and an Interior Designer, bridging the interior and exterior is one of her favorite pursuits.

A Tennessee native, Kate grew up in Germantown and moved out of state to study Interior Design on scholarship at the University of Georgia. While there, her passion for design grew beyond interiors. She expanded her studies to earn a Master of Architecture from the University of Tennessee with a dual concentration in Conservation/Stewardship and Sustainability.

Kate moved to Nashville in 2013 and joined HASTINGS. As a licensed Architect and an NCIDQ-certified Interior Designer, Kate has completed many multi-faceted, award-winning projects, including First Tennessee Park, E. Bronson Ingram Residential College at Vanderbilt University, Estron Chemical, The Buntin Group, and HASTINGS’ office at 225 Polk. Kate is dedicated to advancing the profession as HASTINGS’ Licensing Advisor, a passion she developed after serving as an NCARB Licensing Advisor through AIA Middle TN from 2018-2019.

Stemming from a love for Nashville and its robust creative communities, Kate was one of four women who co-founded Nashville Design Week. This annual week-long design celebration showcases design in Nashville. Kate is a founding member on the Board of Directors and the Partnerships Advisor.
