We’re proud to share that Donelson Library has been awarded third place in the 2025 IFLA Green Library Award—a prestigious global honor presented by the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA).

This annual award recognizes libraries around the world that demonstrate excellence in environmental sustainability through their design, operations, and community engagement. Organized by the IFLA Environment, Sustainability and Libraries Section, the award celebrates projects that actively promote awareness of environmental issues and implement forward-thinking green solutions that align with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.

This year’s jury praised the Donelson Branch for its strong sustainability strategies and long-term impact, noting the building’s geothermal heating and cooling system, rooftop solar array, water-saving features, and its role as a model for community education and resilience.

Congratulations to our incredible project partners and to the Nashville Public Library team for this meaningful achievement!
