About The Role

HASTINGS is seeking a skilled and motivated Project Manager to lead high-quality, sustainable, and design-forward architectural projects. The successful candidate will serve as the primary point of contact on assigned projects and provide leadership, coordination, and management across all phases of design and delivery. This role blends design sensitivity with project management acumen to bring bold architectural visions to life.

- Ensure design advancement, creativity, sustainability, and integrity for the entirety of each project. 

- Serve as the “point person” on assigned projects—responsible for overall work plan, coordination, schedule, and budget control.

- Interface directly with clients, consultants, contractors, and key stakeholders; represent the firm in meetings and communications with confidence and professionalism.

- Champion design integrity throughout all project phases, from concept through construction administration.

- Allocate and adjust team assignments, staffing needs, and schedules in alignment with project goals and deadlines.

- Foster a positive, supportive, and inclusive team culture with active mentorship of junior staff, including interdisciplinary team contributions, that balances design impact with project constraints.

- Support the preparation of proposals, contracts, and scopes of services, including fee development and negotiations.

- Engage with public agencies for coordination of entitlements and permitting processes.

- Provide regular updates on project status to firm leadership using project management tools.

- Engage with the firm’s strategic initiatives in sustainability, client service, and innovation across design practice.

Qualifications

- Professional degree in Architecture (Bachelor’s and/or Master’s)

- Licensed Architect (required)

- Minimum 8+ years of architectural experience with 5+ years in a project management capacity

- Proven track record of delivering projects from design through construction, ideally in civic, educational, hospitality, multi-family or mixed-use sectors

- Exceptional organizational, leadership, and communication skills

- Proficient in Revit, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite.

- LEED or WELL accreditation a plus

- Prior experience in budgeting, consultant negotiations, and cost tracking

- Familiarity with quality assurance practices and building envelope design
